This
exhibition in Volterra/Tuscany arose from a desire to honor the
architect and artist Frank Lloyd Wright on the occasion of his
one hundred and fiftieth birthday. Frank Lloyd Wright: Forerunner
to Modernism was organized by the association Amici di Frank Lloyd
Wright
and the International Culture Center
Villa Palagione in cooperation with the Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation,
Arizona.
The exhibit will be held at city of Volterra in Tuscany, an area
Wright himself enjoyed during his first trip to Europe in 1909-10.
The retrospective of the visionary architect is documented with
photographs, films and drawings, and illustrates the development
of his creativity in a most extensive exhibition in Italy to celebrate
the 150th birthday of Frank Lloyd Wright. Almost at the same time,
from June 12 to October 1, 2017,
the MoMA in New York celebrates the jubilee with an exhibition
of original pieces of work: “Frank Lloyd Wright at 150: Unpacking
the Archive” |
